Kate Radford Physiotherapist Longhurst

Qualifications: Bachelor of Health Science, Physiotherapy, AUT 2017; Introductory Women’s Health Physio level 1 certificate, APA, 2020; Introduction Certificate to Physiotherapy Management of Female Urinary Incontinence 2020

Biography: I developed a love of movement as a dancer from a young age. I have a National Diploma in Dance Performance that I gained while studying at the New Zealand School of Dance in 2004. Since that time, I have worked as a contemporary dancer, teacher and choreographer before moving into the field of health and fitness. I have worked in NZ and further afield in London and Edinburgh as a personal trainer helping people rehabilitate in the gym before returning to NZ to study as a physiotherapist.

Clinical interests: I have a special interest in women’s health and am completing ongoing study in this field to help women throughout their life span from young female athletes, to pre and postnatal physio and beyond. With my dancing background I have an affinity with them and can understand movement patterns and love to see them return to the floor to perform at their best.

Hobbies/ interests: Being a mum to my 2 young daughters

Why I love being a physio/part of the team: I enjoy being able to incorporate my love for movement into helping people recover from injury. I also enjoy guiding people to reach their movement goals.
