🌸 PELVIC HEALTH PHYSIOTHERAPY

Supporting You Through Every Stage of Life

At You First Physio, we believe that Pelvic health deserves the same level of attention, care, and expertise as any other area of physiotherapy.
Our goal is simple — to help you move with confidence, strength, and comfort through every stage of life.

From early adulthood, through pregnancy and postnatal recovery, to perimenopause and beyond — your body changes, adapts, and works hard for you. Our Pelvic Health Physiotherapy service is here to support you at every step.

💗 What Is Pelvic Health Physiotherapy?

Pelvic Health (or Women’s Health) Physiotherapy focuses on the muscles, joints, and connective tissues of the pelvis and core — areas that play a vital role in bladder and bowel control, posture, and stability.

Our experienced team provides compassionate, evidence-based care for:
✔️ Pelvic floor dysfunction — weakness, tightness, or pain
✔️ Bladder leakage or urgency — even small leaks are treatable
✔️ Pelvic organ prolapse — heaviness or pressure in the pelvic area
✔️ Pregnancy-related pelvic or low-back pain
✔️ Postnatal recovery — abdominal separation, scar management, return to exercise
✔️ Pelvic pain or pain with intimacy
✔️ Menopause-related changes — dryness, discomfort, or weakness

Our approach is personalised — we listen, assess thoroughly, and tailor a plan that suits your goals and lifestyle.

🤰 Pregnancy & Postnatal Support

Pregnancy is an incredible journey, but it can place new demands on your body. Our physiotherapists can help you stay active, strong, and comfortable with:

  • Safe, trimester-specific exercise programs
  • Pelvic and back pain relief strategies
  • Pelvic floor preparation for birth

After childbirth, we can support your recovery — whether you’ve had a vaginal or caesarean delivery. ACC will now cover Maternal birth injuries and you may be eligible for this if you sustained an injury.
We offer:

  • Gentle core and pelvic floor rehabilitation
  • Assessment and treatment for abdominal separation (diastasis recti)
  • Scar management and mobility work
  • Guidance for a safe return to activity, sport, or gym

No two recoveries are the same — and that’s why our care is always individualised.

🌼 Beyond Childbirth — Supporting Women Through Menopause

During perimenopause and menopause, hormonal changes can affect pelvic muscle tone, joint mobility, and tissue health. Many women notice new symptoms such as bladder urgency, leakage, or discomfort.

Our Women’s Health Physios can help with:

  • Pelvic floor strengthening and retraining
  • Improving bladder control and reducing urgency
  • Managing discomfort during intimacy
  • Supporting posture, mobility, and overall wellbeing

A proactive approach to your pelvic and musculoskeletal health at this stage can make a big difference in your comfort, strength, and confidence.

💬 Why Women’s Health Physio Matters

So many women put up with pelvic or core symptoms — thinking they’re “just part of motherhood” or “something you have to live with.”
The truth is: these issues are common, but not normal.

With the right guidance, you can restore control, reduce discomfort, and get back to the things you love.
At You First Physio, we’re here to help you do exactly that.
